Diathermy is a treatment for spider veins (telangiectasia) on the face. It is a minimally invasive electrosurgical technique that uses a fine probe to deliver a controlled high-frequency electrical current. This current generates localised heat, which cauterises and seals the dilated blood vessels, causing them to collapse and be reabsorbed by the body.
